DIWALI CELEBRATION & HONOUR FOR PT B BEHADAR
The Arya Samaj SA, together with the Arya Yuvuk Sabha, Queensburgh and Silverglen Arya Samajs celebrated Diwali 2015 with the hosting of a Maha Yajna and presentation of a citation to Pt Behadar for his lifelong work to the cause of the Arya Samaj. The Brahma for the day was Pt Uma Manogaran who recited a selection of mantras from the Vedas and explained their meanings in English very appropriately. The mantras covered the well being of mankind on its journey through life, the absence of fear in all man’s endeavours, prayers for good health and success in man’s earthly pursuits and prayers to sensitise man on ‘ecology’ issues. One cannot but marvel at the completeness of the subject matter of the Vedas which offer guidance and direction in every aspect of man’s life.
Arya Samaj President, Dr Rambilass explained the mantra on the fleeting mind which wanders far away both while awake and asleep. An appeal is made to God to give peace to our minds so that good thoughts may originate in it.
Consul General of India in Durban, Rajagopalan Raghunathan, advised that the bhakti he had observed in Durban amongst religious organisations such as the Arya Samaj was very strong and bodes well for the preservation of our culture. He also advised that he deeply values the spiritual books he has received from the Arya Samaj as tokens of appreciation.
The Silver Glen Arya Samaj bestowed an honour on Pt B Behadar by presenting him with a framed citation for his sterling contributions to the cause of Vedic culture and its traditions. Pandiji officiated at 37 Mahayajnas in Silverglen’s history, thus spreading the knowledge of the Vedas.
